David Garcia is principal of DMG Communications, a public relations consultancy specializing in corporate communications, media relations and editorial services.
He most recently served as vice president, corporate public relations at City National Bank and, before that, as director of media relations at the Los Angeles Times. Earlier in his 38-year career, he held senior corporate communications positions at Bank of America, First Interstate Bank, Security Pacific Bank and Unocal Corporation. He also worked at FleishmanHillard where he managed publicity and media relations programs for Anheuser-Busch, Blue Cross of California and the California Milk Advisory Board.
David chairs PRSA-LA’s Independent Practitioners Alliance (IPA) Committee and serves on PRSA’s national IPA Executive Committee. He also has served on the boards of the Los Angeles County Library Foundation and the Hispanic Public Relations Association, of which he was founding president.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Southern California.
