PHILIP SOKOLOSKI is a communication and public relations strategist specializing in the nonprofit/government sector.

As Vice President, Integrated Communications for FilmL.A., Inc., Sokoloski is responsible for the planning, execution and measurement of integrated communication campaigns, as well as deepening FilmL.A.’s relationships with media and FilmL.A.’s government, industry and community stakeholders. His department manages FilmL.A.’s community relations and research functions. His team issues regular reports detailing the volume and value of local filming and its economic, civic and cultural benefits to the greater Los Angeles region.

Sokoloski is a fourteen-year veteran of FilmL.A. His numerous accomplishments during the period include serving as co-creator of Film Works CA (, an award-winning public education and marketing campaign supporting California’s $330 million film & television tax credit program.

Sokoloski and his staff also manage LocoScout (www.locoscout), a tool used to promote publicly-owned properties for filming purposes. Sokoloski also played a major role in the rebranding of the organization as FilmL.A., Inc. in 2005.

Sokoloski is an eight-year member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and has held several roles on the board of the Los Angeles chapter.  Among other roles, he’s edited the chapter’s newsletter and twice coordinated nominations and reciprocal judging efforts for the organization’s PRism program.  He also serves on the board of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA).

Sokoloski holds a Masters degree in Strategic Public Relations from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He and his family live in Valencia, CA.
