More than 400 guests attended last night’s sold out PRSA Los Angeles PRism Awards Show, which celebrated outstanding achievements in public relations throughout greater Los Angeles. A total of 59 PRisms were awarded to agencies, corporations and non-profit organizations, representing a variety of categories including automotive, healthcare, travel, entertainment and non-profits. In addition, a special award was given for Best-In-Show, as determined by the judges, to West Basin Municipal Water District for their Water Reliability 2020 Program; and the coveted President’s Award for the most awards won during the evening was bestowed upon GolinHarris, who received a total of 13 awards.

A complete list of winners along with a highlights video from the show can be viewed online at www.prsala.org or via any mobile device on the PRism Awards Mobile website.

Dynamic new award show programming reflected PRSA-LA’s innovative and creative approach to this year’s event, which was directed by veteran award show producer/director Michael Seel. The show featured the first-ever finalist highlights video, as well as special presenters including actor Joel McHale, star of the popular television program “Community” who presented the PRism for PR Team of the Year to the NBC entertainment team, publicity division; and Tim Leiweke, president & ceo of AEG, who presented the PRism for PR Professional of the Year to Michael Roth, vice president, communications, AEG.

“The PR profession in Los Angeles now has a night that honors our best work and most distinguished honorees on par with the award shows produced by the entertainment industry,” said Brian O’Connor, president of PRSA Los Angeles. “The 2011 PRism Awards reached a new pinnacle for celebrating PR and communications professionals here in the City of Angels,” added O’Connor.

This year, PRSA-LA teamed with Knovolo Mobile Marketing to bring high technology, mobile marketing and on-site activation to the awards show. At the start of the show, a TXT2WIN keyword was revealed and throughout the evening attendees entered for a chance to win an iPad2. For this promotion, Knovolo created the PRism Awards mobile website offering attendees and PR professionals everywhere the opportunity to browse through key features of the event. Today, all entrants received a link to view a streaming web video featuring highlights from last night’s show.
