Through their perseverance and tenacity\, we learn how to continue the important work to make the PR industry more inclusive and embracing of diverse perspectives. \nCongratulations to these 2026 Sunrise Honors recipients: \nSandy Shin is Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Braille Institute of America and a communications leader with more than 30 years of experience. Her career includes Disney\, IBM\, UCLA and USC. She specializes in brand strategy\, inclusive storytelling and communications that connect organizations with the communities they serve. \n  \n  \n  \nDr. Jamila Cupid is a Pepperdine University professor\, social scientist and communications strategist specializing in public relations\, digital media and intercultural communication. Her research explores workplace inclusion\, community voices and diverse professionals in public relations. Her professional background includes agency experience and leadership within national communication organizations. \n  \n  \n  \nBrenda Duran is Director of External Affairs for Los Angeles County’s Justice\, Care and Opportunities Department. A former journalist and longtime public sector communications leader\, she champions multilingual\, culturally responsive communications and equitable community engagement. Her leadership has helped make government information more accessible to diverse communities throughout Los Angeles County. \n  \n  \n  \nThe Sunrise Honors is PRSA-LA’s way of celebrating the longtime work of these champions.
