Congratulations to Alan Caldwell, APR, PRSA-LA’s latest member to demonstrate profession-leading competency in the knowledge, skills and abilities required to practice public relations effectively in today’s business arena. Alan recently earned his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation Board.
Alan serves as External Relations Manager, Southern California for Shell Oil Company. He was presented his APR pin at PRSA-LA’s August event. The event, “From the Frontlines: What You Need to Know Now for the Crisis Ahead,” dealt with crisis communications; Alan served as one of the evening’s three panelists.
Longtime member Susan Tellem, APR of Tellem Grody PR, who earned her accreditation years ago, was also presented with her APR pin at the ceremony.
APR Boot Camp Begins September 28!
If you’re ready to experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from studying and passing the PR industry’s standard-setting exam, it’s time to earn your APR. Your chapter supports candidates by matching them with a mentor and offering a free APR Boot Camp in the spring and fall.
The PRSA-LA APR Boot Camp is 100 percent online, interactive and offered in three evening sessions, each an hour long. Boot Camp helps to prepare candidates for the Readiness Review and exam. The fall sessions will occur on September 28, and October 5 and 12, from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.
To register, contact Rebecca Mikkelsen, APR, by emailing her or calling 626.660.5231. And check out these links to learn more about the APR program. The next Readiness Review will be held Saturday, November 7.
