Public relations professionals in L.A., New York and everywhere in between are invited to join a first-of-its-kind bicoastal “Hangout” with top-tier entertainment journalists on Thursday, November 13 (noon PST / 3 PM EST). The discussion will focus on how to pitch and secure coverage in their coveted media outlets. This free online event will be powered by Google+ and presented jointly by PRSA’s Los Angeles and New York City chapters.
The discussion will be moderated by renowned public relations expert, author, educator and television commentator Howard Bragman (@HowardBragman), who will be joined by a four-member panel of entertainment journalists based in the nation’s two largest media centers.
The session will be interactive; viewers can submit questions in advance and during the live panel via the Google+ event page (use comments section) and via Twitter using hashtag #PRSAhangout. Following the live event, archived video will be available on the PRSA-LA and PRSA-NY websites.
“We’re beyond excited to team up with our colleagues at the New York chapter for an event that can provide value to so many PR professionals,” said PRSA-LA President Erik Deutsch. “Platforms like Hangouts On-Air are making the world a very small place, and we hope this is the first of many such high-tech partnerships among PRSA chapters.”
Deutsch noted that PRSA-LA began producing such online events (dubbed “Happy Hour Hangouts”) in February as a way to augment traditional offline events and provide members with more access to top-tier journalists.
