An op-ed column authored by PRSA-LA President Erik Deutsch was featured in the April 21 issue of the Los Angeles Business Journal. The column, entitled “L.A. at Home with Branded Content,” contends that Los Angeles-based PR pros have a hometown advantage as our industry evolves to include the production of branded digital content as a core service.
Our advantage derives from L.A.’s status as the world’s leading center for content creation and storytelling. Deutsch argues that at a time when “every individual, group, corporation and organization can self publish its own branded content,” the wealth of storytelling talent here gives local PR professionals a leg up in the branded content space:
“Los Angeles is home to the best screenwriters, directors, actors, editors, musicians and other skilled professionals who make up the entertainment production industry. As film and TV producers leave Los Angeles in pursuit of tax credits in other states and nations, those here at home charged with creating branded digital content have access to a wealth of artistic and technical know-how.”
