Maria Paula OchoaMaria Paula Ochoa, National Network News Correspondent, Telemundo Network

“Challenge accepted,” this simple phrase has encapsulated my professional value proposition ever since I started working at the age of 15. As an ambitious young woman seeking to progress, learn, and serve, “no, I can’t” wasn’t an option. Instead, I always figured out what was needed, even if I had to create it myself, to assure that I successfully completed everything I did.

I grew up in a third-world country where resources are scarce. I used intelligence, determination, and resourcefulness to achieve my biggest dream: to become a United States citizen and to be part of this great Country’s culture. For 20 years I built my career as a journalist and became a National Correspondent for one of the world’s leading national Hispanic networks – and earned 4 Emmy awards along the way.

Being an ethical, fast learner who connects easily with people enabled me to become a credible and trusted source of information for the national Hispanic community. My expertise is centered on telling stories that provide accurate, timely facts and information to provide greater access to services and resources that improve quality of life. I develop strategies and action plans to create compelling stories (both in words and visuals) to capture the attention of audiences and engage them by communicating important facts in a relatable, clear, and efficient manner.

I accepted the challenge of making diversity a key strength and I have built my reputation and my entire career around helping organizations to formulate and deliver stories and information that change lives.
