Biola University junior Laura Daronatsy has been elected PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) president for the 2015-2016 term, which begins June 1. Her election was announced on March 14 at the PRSSA National Assembly meeting in Portland, Oregon.
Daronatsy currently serves as 2014-2015 editor-in-chief for PRSSA National publications, including the “Progressions” blog and tri-annual digital newspaper, “FORUM.” She’s also National PRSSA liaison for more than 30 chapters across the Western U.S.
As president, Daronatsy will lead PRSSA’s 10-member National Committee. Her vision for the society focuses on investment and authenticity, with a focus on “promoting outreach among PRSSA and PRSA members by building authentic relationships.”
She will be inaugurated into her new role as national president during the PRSSA Leadership Rally in Scottsdale, Arizona, and her official tenure will begin June 1.
PRSSA is comprised of more than 11,500 students and advisers organized into 330-plus chapters in the U.S., Argentina, Columbia and Peru. The organization helps enhance education, broaden students’ networks and launch careers in public relations.
