The Planning Committee for our recent 60th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration is still basking in the glow of comments like that of PRSA-LA Past President Clifford Dektar, APR, Fellow PRSA (1980): "I have been a member of this chapter for 38-plus years and never attended an event like this one! It was well planned and masterfully executed."
Four panels, representing four decades of past presidents (1970s – present) underscored how PRSA-LA has played a major role in shaping the image of public relations as a profession (see article below for event photos and link to highlight video)
Our chapter has been, and will continue to be, at the forefront of innovation in the public relations field. Our board is creating ground breaking programs and services that PRSA chapters around the country are emulating. The Los Angeles Chapter is also where many leaders have begun their path to national leadership roles.
If you are not already a member of PRSA-LA, now is the time to join. If you were once active, now is the time to rediscover the creative energy that is propelling this chapter to the top in the nation.
It's my honor and privilege to serve as president of PRSA-LA, especially now, during this 60th Anniversary year. Thank you for the opportunity.
Rita Tateel, President, PRSA-LA President, The Celebrity Source, Inc.

60th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration
PRSA-LA marked its 60th anniversary on May 20th with an event that celebrated our chapter's rich history, as well as its very promising future. The event lived up to its theme – "Reflection & Reinvention" – as 150-plus guests took a stroll down memory lane with an all-star panel of chapter presidents representing four decades. Our friends in the media were also well represented, as Stan Chambers from KTLA and Carlos Amezcua from FOX11 moderated the discussion.
The celebration included videotaped interviews of PRSSA students from Cal State Northridge, who made it clear that the future of PRSA-LA is in good hands. Comments from our Young Professionals/Associate Members President, Phyllis Hu, described how YP is providing a bridge for new graduates to become involved with PRSA-LA and active in the profession as a whole.
Most of all, the anniversary celebration served to remind us that at 60, PRSA-LA is only getting better with age.
