Hello, Happy New Year, and thank you for your membership in PRSA. If you are new here, welcome. If you’re a returning member, welcome back!
As incoming president of the Los Angeles Chapter, it’s my honor to say a few words about the opportunities we have in store for you in the year ahead. On our blog you’ll find news about some exciting and ambitious programs… including an all-day Independent Practitioners Workshop on February 3, our annual “State of the State of PR” summit on February 15, and our PRSSA One-Day Conference on February 25.
Add to that quarterly At Breakfast With… media events and new quarterly programming from our entertainment industry colleagues at EPPS, and the year is already rich with opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills, and continue to advance both personally and professionally.
But your involvement with PRSA needn’t end when our events do. There is no time like the present to lean in to PRSA and earn additional value from membership.
At the chapter level, we have immediate volunteer openings on several board committees overseeing everything from chapter PR to business development to awards programs and APR promotion. All chapter members with two or more years of professional experience are encouraged to apply for these positions. Serving on a chapter committee is a great introduction to board members and a preferred pathway to board leadership.
And if serving on a committee isn’t possible right now, there are other ways to get involved. Our programming committee is always looking for qualified event speakers and panelists. Our annual Quality Time event is always in need of volunteers, and members of our Young Professionals and PRSSA groups are always looking for experienced mentors.
In short, PRSA Los Angeles offers involvement opportunities for professionals at all experience levels. If you’re ready and excited to explore them, let’s talk.
Best regards,
