It’s crunch time…
The 50th Annual PRism Awards show is just a few weeks away. It’s the biggest night of the year for the PR industry in L.A., and we have a stellar show planned for November 19 at the Hollywood Roosevelt.
On tap to emcee is the great John O’Hurley—best known for playing J. Peterman on “Seinfeld,” hosting “Family Feud” and making it to the final round of “Dancing with the Stars.” Less well known is the fact that John worked as a PR pro and was a member of PRSA before he began his show-business career. John is one of the most experienced and entertaining emcees on the planet, and we’re beyond fortunate that he’s hosting our big 50th anniversary celebration.
This year’s awards competition drew more than 200 entries, making it one of the largest and most competitive in the PRisms’ history. In addition to awards for all the judged categories, we’ll present seven PRism Special Awards—from PR Professional of the Year to Outstanding Achievement in Publicity—to an amazing group of honorees. See our PRism Awards news release for details.
A limited number of PRism Awards show tickets and sponsorship/tribute program opportunities are still available, but time is running out. Contact PRSA-LA Executive Director Mindy Brundige at mindy@prsala.org or 818-582-3233 for more info.
While PRism Awards planning is at a fever pitch, we also have some other great programming lined up for November, including our first bicoastal event with our colleagues at the New York City chapter. On Thursday, November 13 (noon Pacific /3 PM Eastern), we’ll team up with PRSA-NY to stage a free live “Hangout” featuring top-tier entertainment journalists in L.A. and New York. The discussion will be moderated by renowned public relations expert, author, educator and television commentator Howard Bragman. Everyone is invited to tune-in to the live broadcast. Check out the Google+ event page at http://bit.ly/PRSAhangout for more information.
Get ready for a November to remember!
Sincerely,
Erik Deutsch, PRSA-LA President
