More than 300 PR pros attended this year’s sold-out PRSA Western District Conference hosted by PRSA-LA.
The three-day conference — presented by General Motors and held March 19-21 at the JW Marriott L.A. Live Hotel in downtown L.A. — was filled with keynotes, panels and presentations focused on a broad range of industries and market segments. Attendees from 11 PRSA chapters across five states included small, mid-size and large PR agency pros, independent practitioners, corporate communicators, public information officers, publicists, and government and non-profit communications professionals.
The conference opened with a fabulous cocktail reception on the Target Terrace overlooking L.A. Live. Networking and good times were enhanced by an amazing magician showcasing his sleight-of-hand talents, along with live music from a spirited jazz band.
The conference agenda featured four dynamic keynote speakers: Tucker Bounds, co-founder and CEO of Sidewire, and former director of corporate communications at Facebook; Fred Cook, CEO of international PR agency Golin; PRSA national president Kathy Barbour, APR and Tom Bernthal, founder and CEO of research firm Kelton Global.
