Dear PRSA-LA Members,
I hope the first part of the year was a successful one for you and your plans for the remainder of 2018 are shaping up well. We have many programs coming your way to help you continue your professional development and gain recognition, as well as provide ways to connect with other communication pros.
The board is continuing to work on improvements to the chapter and the services we provide you, our valued members. We are pleased to announce that after an extensive search, we have hired Huntington Association Management to handle our administrative management needs. Huntington is a company with 32 years of experience in association administration, including membership marketing, delivering member benefits, producing events, updating websites, maintaining a digital presence, and much more.
Our mailing address, email address and phone number will stay the same. Huntington’s offices are located in Pasadena, right off the 210 freeway.
You will likely be meeting some of them at one of our upcoming events, or engaging in communications with them-we are pleased with our early interaction and believe you will be too. We are appreciative to the PRSA-LA Board who helped with the search, transition and will continue to lead the association.
We are also excited to report that Melissa England has joined the PRSA-LA Board of Directors. Melissa was brought on to replace Shell Amiga, our membership chair, who had to step away from board responsibilities for personal reasons.
Melissa is an Associate Vice President in the Entertainment Practice at Finn Partners, one of the largest independent PR agencies in the world. After four years of Consumer PR work at Finn Partners, Melissa helped establish the agency’s Corporate Entertainment Practice in 2014.
In her time at Finn Partners, Melissa has helped lead national media campaigns for a variety of clients including: encouraging consumers and Congress to Support Music as part of The Recording Academy’s ongoing advocacy work; launching the first-ever U.S. China Film and Television Expo; introducing new menu items for Jamba Juice; announcing the animal welfare programs at Whole Foods Markets; helping find a cure for childhood cancer with Hyundai Hope on Wheels; and unveiling world debuts and hosting more than 4,000 media as part of the L.A. Auto Show
Most recently she led media relations for the move of the 2018 GRAMMY Awards to New York City and the acquisition of Open Road Films by Tang Media Partners.
Melissa is already making an impact and will do great things for the chapter. Please join me in welcoming her to the board.
Thank you for your membership and participation in chapter events. I look forward to seeing you soon.
