JOE MARCHELEWSKI
President, AIJ Communications
Joe Marchelewski, a PRSA-LA Board Member, is President of AIJ Communications, a boutique agency representing trial lawyers, consumer brands, digital finance, cannabis, and financial firms in all aspects of their communications efforts. He is a veteran of the legal PR and marketing world, having worked for some of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the world. After graduating from USC’s Annenberg School for Journalism with a degree in Public Relations, he began working for Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, one of Los Angeles’ oldest and most prominent entertainment firms. He spent the next 13+ years working for the largest law firm in Manhattan (Skadden, Arps), the firm that took down the Federal Government’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy (White & Case), and the law firm that established insurance bad faith as one of the few new torts in the 20th Century (Shernoff Bidart Echeverria).
Joe has created national, consumer-focused PR campaigns, successfully spearheaded marketing proposals to retain Fortune 500 companies, worked one-on-one with lawyers to position them as experts in the field, and helped law firms throughout the country brand and rebrand themselves.
HOLLY BAIRD
President, Geragos Global Communications
Since graduating from Cal State Fullerton in 2001 with a BA in Communications – TV and Film, Holly Baird has worked in a series of positions with well-known companies, starting with a two-year stint at the global powerhouse advertising firm, Ogilvy & Mather. From there, she went to CBS-King World Productions Inc., in the role of an advertising & promotions coordinator.
But she really found her stride at Sitrick and Company where she specialized in crisis/reputation management concentrating on media and communications analysis, entertainment and sports, litigation support, media training, and marketing/social media strategy. She has worked on hundreds of cases over the 14 years with the firm and scored the coveted title of Member of the Firm. Some of her former notable clients include Harvey Weinstein, Chris Brown, Nicholas Sparks, and Kobe Bryant.
In 2020 she left Sitrick and Company to form Geragos Global Communications alongside trial attorney Mark Geragos, continued servicing clients under the Source Public Relations, a consulting pr and marketing firm, launched ChronicPR-a cannabis and wellness-focused boutique pr firm, and went back to her TV/Film roots, producing and developing content.
She’s a Junior Board member of the Jenesse Center, a nonprofit domestic violence intervention and prevention organization, and is a Board member for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2018 and 2019 she produced the Athletes vs Cancer weekend event series co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
