Brian Lubocki
PRSA-LA member and event sponsor Brian Lubocki of PR Newswire has written and produced a feature film titled “Fire City” that will be released on DVD and via download October 6.
Lubocki describes the film as a “demon noir fantasy” set in a world where demons live secretly among us. The story revolves around a hard-boiled demon named Vine who must make the ultimate choice between salvation for his own kind and saving the life of an innocent human girl.
Lubocki began work on the project in late 2010, shopping a 7-minute teaser piece to studios and at film markets. One studio described it as “Harry Potter for adults,” but like many others was unwilling to allow Lubocki to produce the film he wrote. After creating several ancillary pieces of content, including a comic book and short film, Lubocki launched a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2013 and completed the film earlier this year.
Just in time for Halloween, “Fire City” will be available next week on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, etc., and then via Red Box later in the month.
