| Dear PR Professional,
If you are taking the time to read this newsletter, I hope you will take just a moment more to forward it to someone you know who isn't already a member of PRSA, but perhaps should be.
There has never been a better time get involved. Those who join the national PRSA organization by July 31st will receive their first year of membership in the Los Angeles Chapter for FREE – that's an $80 savings! More information about this great offer is available on PRSA's Web site.
I have personally gained so much as a member of PRSA-LA. I have met terrific people, developed business leads and acquired skills that I probably wouldn't have gained elsewhere.
In addition, I have learned a great deal from PRSA-LA programs and professional development seminars. Some of the best events this year are coming up in the next few months, including the August 6th Sports PR Panel, the September 23rd East Coast TV Talk Show Producers Program and the October New Media Half-Day Seminar, to name just a few.
If you're already a PRSA-LA member, become more involved by joining a committee – it's the best way to get the most out of your membership. Visit the PRSA-LA site for committee information and a sign-up form.
Have a great summer, and don't forget to remind your non-member colleagues that the best of PRSA-LA is yet to come!
Rita Tateel, President, PRSA-LA President, The Celebrity Source, Inc.

PR Pros Needed for 6th Annual "Quality Time with PR Minds" Event
A little PR assistance can yield a big reward for nonprofit organizations. But the most worthwhile nonprofits often don't have the resources to afford such assistance. That's why PRSA-LA VP Dawn Wilcox created "Quality Time with PR Minds" – an annual one-day event that provides pro-bono PR consulting to worthy nonprofits based in the L.A. area.
This year's event will be held Saturday, October 11th at the RAND Corporation headquarters in Santa Monica. Dawn anticipates between 30-40 nonprofit organizations will participate, so she's looking for 80-100 PR professionals with at least one year of experience to donate their time and creativity. Volunteering is a great way to meet colleagues and give back to the community.
The event runs from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Volunteers can attend for the entire day, or just the morning or afternoon session. Breakfast, lunch and parking will be provided courtesy of Kaiser Permanente and RAND.
For more information, please contact Dawn at dawn@allisonpr.com.
