Currently Director of Global Communications with the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, Lauren is an experienced travel expert, having led the PR at Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, where she drove global publicity efforts to position Santa Monica as a world-class travel destination and leader in innovation, entertainment, and sustainability. She was also Director of Communications for Cultural Vistas, a nonprofit exchange organization promoting global understanding and collaboration among individuals and institutions.

As Account Executive at MMGY, she served as marketing representative for Australia’s Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea throughout the Americas. Lauren thrived in the fast-paced agency setting while serving as project manager for communications strategies designed to secure media coverage, raise brand awareness, and exceed KPIs for clients across industries. Her portfolio of work included the production of the “Spirit of Papua New Guinea” Festival, reaching consumers, trade partners and media in Los Angeles and secured placements in top publications including National Geographic, The Wall Street Journal and Travel + Leisure.

A graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, Lauren Salisbury began her career at Walt Disney World, operating attractions at the Magic Kingdom before moving onto a role with the Public Affairs team.

One of Lauren’s key strengths lies in her versatility as a practitioner and team leader. A global thinker, her career has spanned four continents and has worked in diverse settings ranging from the magic of Walt Disney World Resort to the Costa Rican rainforest to Europe’s most prestigious newsrooms.

A storyteller at heart, her background as a trained journalist has evolved into a decade of dynamic communications experience covering a wide area of experience in global public relations, communications strategy, social media marketing and crisis communications.

An avid traveler, Lauren lived in Spain and Costa Rica before moving to Los Angeles where’s she’s spent the past six years working in travel and tourism.
