Independent Practitioners Alliance Luncheon

February 11, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

THE SOLO JOURNEY: A SURVIVAL GUIDE

It took about 1 million oar strokes for Roz Savage, the first woman to row solo across three oceans, to get from San Francisco to Hawaii. Keeping afloat an independent public relations practice sometimes seems a similarly Herculean task but one advantage solo practitioners have is that they don’t have to wait days or weeks for help should they need it. They can immediately tap the experience of seasoned public relations professionals who’ve already made that journey.

Join Ron Antonette, Stefan Pollack and Susan Tellem, APR as they share lessons learned and offer their advice on how independent practitioners can manage the personal and professional challenges – and survive the journey – of running a solo practice.

  • Charting your course: Creating the networks to sustain you and your practice
  • Rough seas or smooth sailing: Tips for surviving the first 3-5 years in business
  • Calling in the support boat: Whom to ask – and what to ask for – when you need help
  • Keeping the wind in your sails: Collaborating to grow your business

THE SPEAKERS

• Ron Antonette, principal, R. Antonette Communications
• Stefan Pollack, president and chief financial officer, The Pollack PR Marketing Group
• Susan Tellem, APR, partner, Tellem Grody Public Relations
